Who We Are

Eight48 is a Christ-centered ministry, birthed from a simple act of obedience and transformed by God’s grace into a growing movement of women radically pursuing Jesus. Rooted in Luke 8:48, we exist to reveal the heart of Christ to the world by cultivating authentic community, boldly sharing the gospel, and extending the radical love of Jesus to everyone.

We believe in being not just His hands and feet, but the hem of His robe—accessible, compassionate, and led by faith to pursue those who feel unseen, unworthy, or burdened by shame. What began as a small beach Bible study has become a diverse sisterhood of women made whole by His Word and empowered to walk in freedom, truth, and purpose.

Eight48 dedicates time and resources to creating discipleship materials that allow women to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ; in effort to become more like Christ and receive his free gift of love more fully.

From establishing safe housing, to unifying mothers with their children, or simply funding basic needs, Eight48 is a ministry dedicated to being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Registration is open for Faith Foundations 🙏🏾🥳🙌🏽

Faith Foundations is a six week course designed for you to grow in greater confidence in your faith and in deeper relationship with Jesus. The course was written specifically for those with an earnest heart to know Jesus. Whether you have been a follower of Christ since childhood, recently received him as your Lord and Savior, or beginning your journey of simply understanding who Jesus is— you are invited to join us. You will find that the Lord is not searching for a “tenured” heart; he is searching for a heart that yearns to know him, love him, and be loved by him.

The course is designed for immersive learning through scenario based curriculum and skill building. Each class is a small, intimate, safe space of diverse learners from diverse backgrounds. The small cohorts ensure we have an adequate amount of interaction, and in depth learning. Each week we will review Gospel fundamentals, explore neuro-insights, and build bible and personal skills.

My heart is completely overwhelmed by the out pouring of love from men and women all over the world yearning to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I prepare for tomorrow’s Bible Study I am continually paused by the worship that fills my heart and so I decided to bring you all into my preparation time with Jesus.

For those of you who are unable to join tomorrow I pray this song by @elevationworship blesses your heart as much as it does mine. (And for those of you who grew up in a Gospel church, I pray the mashup at the end moves your spirit as it still does mine 😮‍💨)

The simplicity of the Gospel never grows old, it encourages daily:
For it is by grace that we are saved through faith in Christ Jesus -Ephesians 2:8

As simple as that, don’t overthink or complicate it. No strings attached, He loves you! He loves you!

This October, our Women’s Bible Study will deep dive into The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Together we’ll journey through the New Testament, anchoring in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and the book of Ephesians. We’ll explore what the gospel really says, and dive deeper into the heart of our Savior through the guidance of his Spirit.

We’ll also leverage neuroscience insights to break down human understanding, shedding light on why it can be difficult to accept and live in the truth of the gospel, while learning how we can break free to from a life of striving or behavior modification. Rather, we’ll learn how to run into the arms of Jesus, the one who has promised the unearned, undeserved, free gift of love and forgiveness offered to all who believe in Him.

Join a global community of women as we gather to learn, celebrate, and rest in the truth of the gospel together.

Join us for our very first virtual Women’s Bible Study! 
Together we will dive into on of the most well known passages on taking every thought captive. We’ll read and sit with the text, break down its meaning, and spend time in worship and refection together.

As we walk through the passage, we’ll also introduce a few key neuroscience and cognitive science concepts that will help us put Scripture into practice.

Some moments are worth sitting in for a little while longer. Pausing, reflecting, and simply praising God who he is and what he’s capable of.

A couple weeks ago Eight48 held its first Freedom Weekend. The time was dedicated to raw, authentic, below the water line brain, mind, and soul work. We dipped our toes into neuroscience and coupled it with strategies for healing.

The motto of the day became “You REPEAT what you don’t REPAIR” I praise God for a safe space to be completely free, raw, bare, and 100% unashamed. To love ourselves deeply, and to BE LOVED.

Grateful for our speakers @em_whitey, @kimberly.rae.brown, and Shanda Anderson for joining us and caring for our community well. And for speakers @strength.n.stamina, @alibiadam, and @stacisemper for their bravery and courage in inspiring the women through their testimony 🩷

Distracted
Often referenced when talking about our phones, social media, scrolling, etc. But we don’t often talk about the “good things” that also distract . Like…

Music, even worship music. This one was hard for me. When God asked me to fast in silence it was and still remains my least favorite fast. But he did it to show me I was distracted. He showed how I could be caught up in a beautiful lyric just praising his name and he’s like “yes, that’s a word. But not the word I have for YOU today. You’re distracted.

Or how about religion 🫣The kind that says “I did everything right” “I do this. I do that. So why is this happening to me?” Or even the kind that says “ I did that yesterday and so I’m going to let shame win and I’m not going to talk to God today, maybe tomorrow” He’s saying…I am God. Your good deeds don’t earn you anything just like your bad deeds can’t separate you from me. You’re distracted!

God is inviting you into a beautiful conversation with him, free of distractions. It’s ok to sit in silence, even with your thoughts. He has those too.

This is for all of us (this is being posted at 10pm because well….I was distracted today. But Gods word is true and worth sharing whether it’s 10am or 10pm , AMEN!)

Often we fear what we cannot understand. While we were never meant to fully understand or comprehend a holy God, he still invites us into sweet relationship with him through his son Jesus. He understands his holiness, his awe and wonder (and invites us to revere him in all his splendor).

Some ask….how can we associate God with LOVE and Fear? This Holy God of the “Old Testament” is, well scary 🫣 😱🤫. I mean have you read the Old Testament 😂?

To which I reply with the beauty and simplicity of the Gospel.

For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave his only begotten son (Jesus), so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life 🩷🩷

We may not be able to fully comprehend a Holy God, but he’s shown us all that we need to LOVE, revere, and trust him.
For GOD so LOVED you and I….
He gave us Jesus 😭😭🙌🏾🙌🏾
How much more could he love us🩷🩷🙏🏾

Did you know there is a striking difference between “knowing” the Gospel and “believing” the Gospel? Between “knowing” who Jesus is and “believing” who Jesus is? We have been conditioned to “know” what we “should” and “should not” do.

Living in a state of knowledge without true belief is more common than you know. Because belief is built in the deep, raw places. It’s not on the surface, and it often requires you to confront unbelief and things that you must unlearn.

While difficult, it is incredibly rewarding; it’s FREEDOM. Its freedom in a Gospel that brings promise here and now AND after death. A Gospel that promises LOVE, No separation, no condemnation from a mighty God worth revering. Not a prosperity gospel where we make Jesus into a wish granting; but one that invites you into intimate relationship with The powerful creator who said
“....I am the one who placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot cross it.” Jeremiah 5:22

Take a moment to dwell in your secret place with Jesus today. Just you and him. Listen to him speak. No pressure, Just you and your Dad; who just so happens to be your Savior, creator, and the lover of your soul.

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his word. Just to rest upon his promise; just to know this says the Lord.

Did you know, that Jesus will meet you exactly where you are? That he loves you desperately just as you are right now. No caveats, not what ifs, just as you are.

Often we find that we know this truth, but for some reason there is a disconnect between knowing and truly believing Jesus loves us. This disconnect exists for many reasons: scars left from the pain caused by another, unhealed wombs, shame, fear conditioning, resistance to pain that leads to resistance to heal. The list can go on. The lie that Christ is inviting you to unlearn is that you have to rid of your shame before you are loved by him. My friends, when we believe the lie we gloss of what Jesus did on the cross. He says therefore there is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus.
That means right where you’re at. Right there. In your mess. He died for you and loves you. And on August 2 we are dedicating a full day to spiritual freedom in Christ Jesus. The world is in a complex state. Our country is not without its own complexities, sins, and secrets. And yet, we serve a God whose goodness surpasses our understanding. So today, on this Independence Day, we don’t ignore or pretend that the sins of today or yesterday don’t exist. We instead praise God for progress. We thank him for one of the most beautiful gifts that the freedoms of our nation allows; freedom to serve Jesus Christ our Lord openly.
Lord your goodness abounds. Thank you for the overflow of your love and freedom to choose to serve you. Amen ❤️🤍💙

I have no words to describe or express my heartfelt gratitude and love for Jesus. Last Sunday I experienced baptism like I’ve never experienced it before.

Jesus asked me a pointed question as we prepared for Sunday. He said, “Where am I in this?” Then he proceeded to instruct me to “clear the stage.”

He wanted our hearts to long for the one who sends revival more than revival itself. He wanted us to long for the Holy Spirit more than the baptism. It was a heartfelt reminder that baptism doesn’t save you. The moment you believe you gain your inheritance to the Kingdom 🙌🏾 Baptism is like the birthday party! It is the public celebration of and recognition of your Faith in Jesus.

So on last Sunday we cleared the stage and made room for Jesus do whatever he wanted to. It is a day I will never forget. #christian #jesus #delmar #sandiego #sandiegoevents #jesuslovesyou #sisters

What if I told you that standing in the middle of the desert and praying for rain, can still be limiting God?

Often times we are so conditioned to respond to what we see in the world around us, that we begin to place God in those same spaces. We forget that we serve a God that parted the Red Sea AND the Jordan River! We serve a God who caused walls to fall at the sounds of his people’s voice. We serve a Savior who desperately bore the cross for our sins, didn’t stay dead (he rose), and then ascended so that the same spirit that lives in him could live in us!
God wants our fears, our doubts, our worries, our questions, our big prayers, and our small prayers, he wants it all SO THAT you can walk in a freedom that believes He is who he really says he is! Amen, Hallelujah! I’m praying prayers of INSTEAD! I’m praying the prayers that only God All Mighty himself could think of a special way to answer! Amen! May Bible on the Beach was nothing short of AMAZING 💝 A little background on the Bible study and Eight48:

In February of this year I felt an urgency from the Lord to start a women’s Bible study. I thought it was to answer long awaited prayers for a couple friends in San Diego, little did we know he had much bigger plans in store. Each and everyone woman and child that joined us on Saturday was and is a special gift from God. So many stories, so many prayers, so many smiles, so many tears, I’m in awe.

This past week Eight48 went from a small dream to an official non profit. We are on a mission to share the love of Jesus Christ EVERYWHERE and we cannot wait to share what God has in store with you!!! Be on the lookout for more updates. We will post them as they come 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💕💕💕

Eight48 ministries started off as just a Bible study on the beach 90 days ago as prayer to the Lord to meet a couple new friends. 90 days ago !!🤯
Since then God has taken a small Bible study idea and turned it into something we could only dream of 😭. We have hosted 3 beach Bible studies, given away over 200 free pink bibles, partnered with the international girls academy, created jobs for those saying YES to Jesus, published a 7-Day devotional, and hosted our very first resurrection brunch (featured in this video) 😮‍💨

What greater news, what greater love, what greater joy exists than that which is given through Christ. He told his disciples that they would be filled with great sorrow for a little while when they were to witness what would happen to him.
But friends, can I tell you we have the benefit of seeing the cross and rejoicing. Of falling to our knees in adoration; in complete reverence for Christ our King. Today is not a day of great sorrow; no we know how the story ends!! He LIVES! Today is a day of gratefulness, of adoration, of pure unapologetic, unashamed, unconstrained GRATITUDE! I love you Jesus 😭😭🙌🏾🙌🏾

In a world where we isolate in suffering and run from our pain — remember that on Palm Sunday, Jesus rode on a donkey towards suffering so that through him you & I can live forever. In your suffering; you have someone to hold onto; you can REST in the storm.

Remember not to confuse wealth, fame, recognition with the sole symbol of good. If Jesus saw the crowd yelling Hosanna as the as the “good blessing” then he may have been distracted from his ultimate calling and discouraged by the end of the week when that same crowd (his own people) would soon turn on him. Christ is the GOOD NEWS. Christ is the blessing.
